EDUCATION

For more than four decades, AAHGS has promoted African American history in our nation schools at the elementary, middle, high schools and at the post-secondary level. We are passionate about educating our nation’s young people and provide a number of programs and tools to support this goal.

AAHGS Chapter members work with local school departments in developing programs that enhance the knowledge and learning of African American history and genealogy in our nation’s public and private schools.

Our website is designed to offer diverse resources to our nation’s parents and educators that will encourage the learning of the many contributions made by African Americans at the national, state and local levels, from the colonial period in 1619 to the present day.

Our inventory of educational tools and inventory is always increasing, so please check this website often. If you have suggestions and/or would like to share a learning experience that you found valuable, please contact us at.
