AAHGS News Submission Guidelines Index to back issues

The Bi-Monthly Newsletter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc.

AAHGS News is the newsletter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society. Its bi-monthly issues include a message from the president; News and Notes, a column on activity in the African-American historical and genealogical community; The Book Store, book reviews; Family Prospects, genealogical queries from AAHGS members; and special articles on breaking news.

Genealogical research is like fine detective work -- one has many clues from which to work and must use those clues to connect all of the pieces of the puzzle together.

AAHGS News will explore case studies in which certain clues were provided and will detail the picture that emerged from the clues. In some cases, a complete, colorful picture emerged while in other instances the picture remains dark or fuzzy. Still, each case presents some important lessons learned from which other genealogists may benefit.
