Projects AAHGS Quilt Veteran's History AAGG Cookbook

Our Tenth Anniversary Cookbook came from the idea of how to raise money for our tenth year celebration and to increase our funding for other group projects which would be pertinent in increasing interest in genealogy and our group membership. One suggestion was that we do another cookbook, having done a very successful one several years ago. In March 2005 Nancy Allen, Shirley Solomon Parrish and Gayle Schulman formed the committee to work on the book with the deadline for the completed cookbook to be the annual Juneteenth celebration.

The Cookbook committee and members of the African American Genealogy Group collected recipes and stories from the local community, family and friends. We tried to obtain varied recipes from people of all walks of life and feel that we succeeded. There are recipes are many and some of the stories are genealogical in nature and some are of historical significance. All are quite interesting. We present to you The Tenth Anniversary Cookbook of the African American Genealogy Group of Charlottesville/Albemarle County, Virginia.
