Arlington HistoryFest 250

About this event

To commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States on July 4, 2026, the Arlington VA250 Committee has announced plans for Arlington HistoryFest 250, a free, one-day outdoor festival. It will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 am – 5 pm at Kenmore Middle School, 200 S. Carlin Springs Road.

Programming will feature live reenactments, musical performances, and historical storytelling, hands-on demonstrations, children’s activities and crafts, and local food vendors. It will also include a visit from the VA250 Mobile Museum. Thousands of attendees from across the Washington, D.C., area are expected, along with dozens of historical reenactors and over 40 exhibitors. Visitors and residents alike will be able to experience the living legacy of Arlington’s role in America’s founding. The festival will kick off a multi-month commemoration that connects our County’s roots to the modern day and showcases how Arlington is a place where history lives on.

More information about the day, volunteering, and organization participation can be found on their website.
